WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Controller with strong accounting and financial reporting background and a passion for the brand that will focus on a wide-scope financial activities in the Record to Report, Tax and Government related area for a group of related legal entities. With special attention to the legal entity integrity, this role will also work cross-functionally with other (finance) functions and external stakeholders like tax authorities and B2G organizations. A successful candidate will be passionate in technical accounting, high attention to details, high energy and effective collaborator and communicator, and will embrace and drive elevation and transformation.

 

 

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

  • Support financial statements and tax return preparation, demonstrating clear understanding and full management of relevant areas of responsibility.
  • Provide audit-related evidence to support internal & external (PwC) audit requests.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly Governance reporting (i.e. statistical, central bank, other institutions).
  • Support transformation and elevation activities which may require partnering with other stakeholders to drive automation, simplification, and increased compliance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the geography and corporate controlling and finance community (Accounting, Treasury, Tax), as well as external stakeholders (PwC, EY, 3rd party outsourcing team).
 

 

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

The role reports into the Country Controlling Manager. You will support the Controlling team for ensuring high-quality US GAAP as well as Statutory financial statements of NIKE entities located in EMEA by further strengthening our internal controls, especially focusing on optimization of the reconciliation process between statutory and management reporting. Furthermore, you will also play a role in optimizing the statutory delivery model through automation, standardization, and centralization.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Experience working with an SAP ERP system.
  • Proven working experience in an Accounting, Finance, or related functions.
  • Big 4 Public Accounting experience (nice to have).
  • Thrives in a routine environment but demonstrates strong change agility and a passion to drive elevation and improvement.
  • Self-motivated, detail and deadline-oriented, with a proven ability to handle several tasks with a commitment to own the issues and ensure their successful resolution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Proficient MS Office/Excel skills (macro / automation techniques are a plus).
